The aGREENculture project (“Green Transition Professional of the Agricultural Sector”) addresses the urgent need for new skills in farming, driven by the European Green Deal (EGD) and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Farmers across Europe face stricter environmental requirements but lack the competencies to adopt eco-friendly practices, particularly in remote areas. This mismatch threatens competitiveness, income stability, and food security. The project directly responds to this challenge by developing vocational training solutions that equip professionals with the skills to lead the agricultural green transition.

The project aims to:
- Develop a curriculum for “Green Transition Professionals” in agriculture.
- Produce training materials (including e-learning) to transfer sustainable practices.
- Train a critical mass of 35 trainers who will cascade knowledge to farmers, agronomists, NGOs, chambers, and associations.
- Strengthen the employability of young professionals (26–35) and update skills of mid-career workers (41–50).
- Ensure access to training for remote and disadvantaged areas, promoting inclusive green transition in agriculture.

Activities will include:
- Design of the curriculum focusing on sustainable agriculture, circular economy, green logistics, and organic farming.
- Co-creation workshops with stakeholders in Greece, Italy, and Türkiye to tailor content to real needs.
- Development of training materials, available in multiple formats, including e-learning hosted by the Chamber of Arcadia for long-term use.
- Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions in partner countries to build local capacity.
- Communication and dissemination, ensuring wide visibility through chambers, ministries, and agricultural associations.

The partnership involves six organisations: Chambers, NGOs, SMEs, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye, combining expertise in agriculture, vocational education, and project management.

- Training materials and online resources accessible beyond the project’s lifetime.
- A trained pool of 35 qualified trainers to multiply knowledge transfer locally.
- Upskilled farmers and professionals, better prepared for CAP eco-schemes and sustainable farming practices.
- Contribution to EU goals for climate neutrality, biodiversity, and sustainable food systems.
- Long-term benefits in youth employability, competitiveness of rural economies, and resilience of the agricultural sector.
